Description

Make perfectly fluffy rice with your Instant Pot. Easy, healthy, and sugar-free – perfect for meal prep and recovery-friendly meals.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup of brown rice
  • 1 1/4 cups water or sugar-free, flour-free broth
  • 1/21 tsp. vinegar
  • pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse brown rice under cold water to remove excess starch, if desired.
  2. Add rice, water or broth, and vinegar to the Instant Pot.
  3. Close the lid and set the valve to sealed.
  4. Cook on High Pressure for 22 minutes.
  5. Allow natural pressure to release for at least 10 minutes – This step is important, don’t skip it!
  6. Carefully open seal to release remaining pressure, and then open the lid.
  7. Fluff rice with a fork.
  8. Serve as desired.

Notes

  • It will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes for the Instant Pot to come to pressure, but the exact time can vary. The beauty of the Instant Pot is that you can set the rice to cook, then literally forget it while it completes its cycle;  Meanwhile you can prepare the rest of your meal.
  • Cooled, cooked rice can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or frozen up to 6 months.
  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 22 Minutes
