These Appley Oats are a quick, grounding, whole meal designed to support abstinence and consistent nourishment. Especially on busy mornings or vulnerable days when you just want something warm and nourishing – and quick.
This is not a “treat” – though it tastes like it is. This is recovery.
Appley Oats check all the boxes: stabilize blood sugar, reduce impulsive eating, and comfort without chaos. The oats provide steady energy and satiety. Apples provide fiber and natural sweetness.

Appley Oats

Description
A warm and quick breakfast. Appley Oats are a reminder that recovery can be simple—and that simple is enough.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs, beaten
- splash of water
- 1 oz. oats
- 5 oz fresh, raw apple, chopped
- 1 oz dates, chopped
- 1 tsp butter, or 1 Tbsp toasted chopped nuts
- Cinnamon or Apple Pie Spice, to taste
Instructions
- Whisk the eggs and water in a microwave safe bowl.
- Add oats, fresh apples, and dates. Stir to combine.
- Place bowl in microwave; cover with a paper towel.
- Microwave on HALF POWER (50%) for 4 1/2 to 5 minutes. Stir half way through cooking.
- When cooking is complete, top with either butter or toasted nuts and cinnamon, if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- VERY IMPORTANT: cook this on half power only.
- Microwaves vary; if you need additional cooking time, do so in 30 second increments.
- Don’t have apples or dates? Fresh peaches or fresh pears work very well, too.
- You can substitute additional apples or other fruit for the dates, as desired.
